About

Paula Withrow - online tutorI have been tutoring and homeschooling elementary, junior high, and senior high school students since 1988.  While teaching my students over the past 35 years, I have gained a lot of experience learning how to teach courses in ways that work best for each student to learn.

If as a parent your child has been frustrated learning material presented in the classroom, you simply want a solution so your child can pass the course.

A.  My experience with tutoring has allowed me to develop a learning program which includes Back To Basics.

B. When tutoring, I act as a guide, leading children step-by-step through the learning process, to master subject matter, whether math, writing or the sciences.

C. Through this process, students who follow my program pass the course.

Many children need one-on one instruction to do their best work. If you are unhappy with the academic progress your child is making, consider asking your school system whether your child can study a subject for credit with a tutor.

I have been able to achieve excellent results for the children whom I have taught.

Home Schooling

I have homeschooled many children over the years, teaching all subjects. So that I can provide each student the attention they deserve, the number of students I work with is limited.

A. I begin by created a complete curriculum which is submitted to the Superintendant of your child's school for approval. Reports are submitted each January and June and includes each child's grades, testing scores and work samples.

B. Many of my students graduate from college after tutoring, with one student applying to medical school, and one student receiving a full scholarship to Fordham University.

C. My number one rule for homeschooling a child is that the parents must agree that their child completes the curriculum.

Note: Parents are not aware that even with a child physically attending school, a parent can request a course be taken outside of school. The course would be approved by the school system, and the child gets the same credit they would receive if they attended the class in person.
