The study of Physical Science will take you on an amazing journey. It will begin with a discussion of the world around you and what makes it work. It will then take you to the universe. Physical Science takes you from the basics of Atoms and Molecule and the Metric System to the Physics of Motion. Newton Law’s, The Forces, Light and Sound are covered. Physical Science ends with An Introduction to Astrophysics.

Biology is the study of life itself and DNA. It is a vast subject that takes the student from Microbiology, for example, concentrating on those biological processes and structures that are too small for us to see with our eyes. Biochemistry studies the chemical processes  that make life possible, and population biology deals with the dynamics of many life forms interacting in a community.

Reading and Language Arts - Grades 7-8

In Middle School we are introduced to more formal literature like biographies, autobiographies, and historical fiction. We read a play and create poetry. There are many authors worth reading and many short stories that let our imagination flourish. Reading at this stage of development concentrates on character and plot development. If a child has an interest in a certain type of literature or is reading a book for school, it can be accommodated.

Saxon Math Prealgebra, Algebra ½, Algebra 1

This is an incremental program for a student who might need more practice and review. Algebra and Geometry are not difficult. Algebra and geometry are simply different. Time spent practicing is required for things that are different to become things that are familiar. Math concepts introduced in small units so that they may be practiced and repeated over time. The constant repetition of concepts so that students can master the subject.
