Supplementing your child’s education is important when a child is struggling to master a certain skill or subject. As a parent, encourage your child to go beyond the classroom to master the skills necessary to do well in the course. If you are particularly unhappy with the way a subject is being taught, consider asking the school system whether your child can study the material with a tutor. Many students need one-on-one instruction to do their best work.
Consultation – No charge
The consultation lasts approximately one hour. As a parent, you have questions and concerns for your child. Spend this time asking the questions and then decide if you want your child to proceed to tutoring, a course, or homeschooling.
Elementary Courses Grades 1-6 $45.00 (for 90 minutes)
If you are a parent of an elementary school child, you are already a home educator. If you are checking your child’s compositions, talking him through his history homework, or drilling her in math facts, you are already instructing your child. Hiring a tutor will help you supplement the education of a child who is already in school.
Middle School Grades 7–8 $45.00 (for 90 minutes)
In my experience, most children I tutor begin struggling with more advanced concepts in middle school. This is the time a parent panics when he discovers that their child lacks the basics: how to memorize, logical organization, and how to express their thoughts. They do not know the rules of grammar.
High School Grades 9-12 $45.00 (for 90 minutes)
By the time a child enters high school, he or she should have mastered the basics and think in a logical pattern when evaluating evidence. The student must actively engage with the ideas of the past and present—not just reading about them, but evaluating them, tracing their development, and reading and wring about alternative opinions.
Full Time Courses for credit (must have a signed letter of approval by their school department.) These courses last an entire year. The cost for one course for the year is $499.00.
A full-time course requires a commitment of at least 5 hours per week with the tutor. A syllabus is based on 180-days per year. The Online Tutor requires a student to complete the entire course before credit for the course is sent to their school administrator.
Note: Any of the subjects offered can be turned into a course.
